Historical Fiction Role-Play (Revolutionary War era)

For those of us who like History, and would like to mess around with some history. As with the other Role Play, each person is allowed to have one character. Interactions with other real life characters are allowed, but try and keep the focus on YOUR character. There are no rules about who you can be, you can either make up a soldier or you can choose a real one. My only request, or rule if you will, about choose a real person is to be well aquainted with that person. Don't decide to be George Washington just because you think he's cool! If you choose to be George Washington, know about him and role play accordingly.

This is just a shot to see if it would work, so let's have fun! I'll start.

New Haven, CT
Late April 1775

It was still cold, even as the month of April dragged on. By now the news had spread like wild-fire, shots had been fired! Shots had been fired against the Crown Forces by the millitia men of Lexington, and Concord. Now the colonies had a choice to make, join the fight, or remain neutral to the cause? Each colony's legislature were meeting to make that very decision, and Conneticut was no different.

There was great commotion in the town of New Haven as the Conneticut Committe of Safety met to decide whether or not to join the fight. A crowd gathered around the State House and waited to hear whether their colony was going to war or not. A collection of red coated soldiers stood around, waiting to find out if they were going to march to Cambrige.

At the head of this crowd was an adverage height man. Dispite his normal stature, his build was large, probably from the years spent at sea. His hair was a very dark brown, so dark it was often considered black. His complection was also dark, almost tanned. His eyes were perhaps his most daunting feature. They were cold blue, some said that when he became angered red lines flashed within them. He was a man who commanded respect, and his soldiers knew that he had earned it.
The man nodded and stormed into the State House. The council members, including David Wooster, looked up at him in shock. Most of them were concervities and had no wish to go to war with the Mother Country. They looked at this tall man in shock.

"Captain Arnold! This is an outrage!" the head of the committee stated.

"I'm not interested in what you think is an outrage!" Captain Benedict Arnold, commander of the Second Company Govenor's footgaurd, stated forcefully, "What I'm interested in is the protection of the precious rights this colony was founded on. The King has gone too far this time, and dispite our many attempts to reconsile with him, it would seem as though conflict is the only way."

"Massechusettes is at war, sir, not Conneticut." Wooster said plainly.

"Massechusettes has shown us that our only option is to fight. We no longer have a choice. How long do you think it will be before the King oppresses us as he has Boston?" Arnold asked rhetorically, "We must stand with the others, now, before it's too late. Give me the keys to the armory."

"We will do no such thing!!" another Committee member replied, "I suggest you withdraw yourself and allow this committee to discuss this matter in a peaceful manner, without your bullying."

"You will give me the keys," Arnold said forcefully, "Or I will take my men and we will take the weapons and supplies we need." Arnold stared at them, his eyes cutting them down, "You have a half an hour to make your decision." Arnold turned and walked out slamming the doors behind him. The choice was now in their hand
